This Wolff Gunsprings recoil spring and steel guide rod assembly is designed for full-size Smith & Wesson M&P pistols chambered in 9mm, .357 Sig, and .40 S&W with a 4-1/4 inch barrel. The included spring features an extra-power rating of 17 lbs, compared to the factory-standard 16 lb spring. Proper spring weight is essential for reliable cycling, as springs that are too light or too heavy can cause malfunctions or increased felt recoil. Installation requires disassembly and reassembly of the pistol slide. This product will not fit the Compact 2.0 series.
