Underwood Ammo’s .500 S&W Magnum load features a 700-grain hard-cast lead flat-nose bullet. Designed for woods defense against dangerous game, this non-expanding, deeply penetrating projectile is encased in a nickel-plated brass shell, which is boxer-primed and reloadable. The ammunition is non-corrosive and utilizes flash-suppressed powder to preserve night vision during low-light use. Each bullet is finished with a "Black Cherry" polymer-based coating. This thermally stable, self-lubricating compound provides superior wear resistance, prevents lead-to-bore contact, and eliminates lead fouling, making the round safe for use in all firearms, including those with polygonal rifling. Due to the significant recoil energy, shooters are advised to exercise caution when firing this ammunition in firearms with barrels 4 inches or shorter.
