Overview

The Taylor's & Company Pietta 1858 Remington conversion cylinder allows for the use of centerfire 45 Colt ammunition in compatible black powder revolvers. Crafted from 4150 steel for the cylinder and 4140 steel for the top plate, this 6-round fluted cylinder is designed for strength and safety. It features a rear plate with firing pins that must be removed for loading and cleaning. This conversion is intended strictly for steel-frame revolvers using lead-bullet "cowboy" ammunition or equivalent black powder cartridges; it is not for use in brass-frame revolvers.
