Starline .45-70 Government nickel-plated brass comes in a bulk-packaged bag of 100 unprimed cases. Composed of 70% copper and 30% zinc, the brass is vertically drawn with intermediate annealing steps to ensure uniform wall thickness and consistent metallurgy, and is hand-inspected for quality. Because nickel-plated brass is harder than standard brass, special care and adequate case lubrication are required prior to full-length sizing, trimming, chamfering, and deburring.
