Overview

The Ruger American is a duty-frame 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol featuring a 4.2-inch stainless steel barrel and a black nitride-finished stainless steel slide. The frame is constructed from black polymer and includes an integrated MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail for accessories. Designed for control and comfort, the pistol offers a recoil-reducing barrel cam, low bore axis, functional slide serrations, and a modular wraparound grip system that allows the user to adjust palm swell and trigger reach. The pre-tensioned striker system ensures positive ignition. Safety features include an integrated trigger safety, manual ambidextrous safety, and an internal automatic sear block system. The pistol is equipped with Novak LoMount carry three-dot sights and ambidextrous slide stops and magazine releases. It includes two nickel-Teflon plated steel magazines and three grip modules (small, medium, and large).
