Overview

The Ruger AR-556 chambered in 5.56 NATO features a 16-inch medium contour cold hammer-forged alloy barrel with a 1:8 twist rifling and a matte black oxide finish. It includes a 1/2-28 thread pattern equipped with a Ruger flash suppressor, M4 feed ramps, and a carbine-length gas block position. The flat-top upper receiver is forged from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum and includes a forward assist, dust cover, and brass deflector. Furniture consists of a heat-resistant glass-filled nylon Magpul MOE M-LOK handguard and a six-position telescoping Magpul MOE Carbine buttstock on a Mil-Spec buffer tube. Aiming is handled by a Ruger Rapid Deploy folding rear sight and an A2-style F-height elevation-adjustable front sight. The rifle has an overall length of 32.25 to 35.50 inches, a length of pull of 10.25 to 13.50 inches, a weight of 6.5 pounds, and a 30-round Magpul PMAG magazine is included.
