Overview

The Ruger-57 is an internally hammer-fired, magazine-fed, autoloading, recoil-operated centerfire semi-automatic pistol chambered in 5.7x28mm with a 4.94-inch alloy steel barrel featuring a wear-resistant black nitride finish. It features a 10-round capacity steel magazine that delivers double-stack capacity without excessive bulk, complemented by an inspection port for visual chamber checks. Built on a textured, high-performance glass-filled nylon frame with a Picatinny-style accessory rail, the pistol utilizes Ruger's Secure Action fire-control system. This system combines a protected internal hammer with a bladed safety trigger offering a short, smooth pull, clean break, and positive reset. The through-hardened, billet steel slide features front and rear cocking serrations, lightening cuts, a black oxide finish, and is drilled and tapped for easy mounting of reflex optics using separately available adapter plates. Sighting is handled by a rapid-acquisition fiber optic front sight and windage-and-elevation-adjustable serrated rear sight. Ergonomics include an easy trigger reach, robust slide release, and a reversible magazine release latch. Safety mechanisms comprise a 1911-style ambidextrous manual safety, an integrated trigger safety, lightweight firing pin, neutrally balanced sear with strong spring tension, and a hammer catch.
