Overview

The RCBS Small Base 2-Die Set in 308 Winchester is designed specifically for reloaders producing ammunition for tight-chambering semi-automatic, pump-action, slide-action, and lever-action rifles. Constructed from case-hardened steel with precision-drilled and reamed interior surfaces, these dies are properly hardened and hand-polished to withstand abrasive wear. The small-base sizer resizes bottleneck cases below SAAMI minimum specifications—reducing both the shoulder and body slightly—to ensure reliable feeding and chambering in automatic and repeating actions, and is not recommended for bolt-action rifles. The sizer features vents to prevent case damage from trapped air or excess lubricant and de-primes the case. The accompanying seater die features a built-in roll crimp that secures the bullet during seating, which can be disabled simply by unscrewing the die until the crimp ring no longer engages the case mouth. Standard 7/8"-14 threads fit most presses, and the dies utilize large hex lock rings with hex head set screws. Packaged in a stackable plastic storage box with a loading data label (shellholder not included).
