Overview

The PTG Range Rod is a 6-inch steel tool designed for gunsmithing applications to achieve a perfect inline bore when working with unchambered 22 rimfire barrel blanks. Once a barrel is secured in a steady rest or headstock, the rod is inserted into the bore to serve as an index point, allowing the barrel blank to be precisely centered in a lathe prior to machining. The rod features a removable steel pilot and a tapered design near the opposite end, which ensures alignment with the center of the bore.
