Overview

The PTG 22 caliber centerfire range rod is a 6-inch steel tool designed for precise barrel machining. It features a removable pilot that centers the rod within the bore to ensure perfect alignment when a barrel is mounted in a lathe steady rest or headstock. This tapered rod is intended for use with non-chambered barrel blanks, protruding from the bore to serve as an index point for centering the blank prior to machining. For pre-chambered barrels, a PTG indicator rod is recommended for better centering in the throat area.
