Overview

The PTG Pilot Bushing is a steel, tapered bushing designed for center-tooling rifle actions when using bolt raceway reamers, receiver reamers, and taps. The bushing is available in multiple diameters to fit the existing raceway of the receiver. To use, the operator selects the appropriate bushing diameter and inserts the reamer tool from the front of the receiver, placing one bushing on each side of the ejection port. As the tool cuts, the bushings are pushed out of the raceway, allowing the reamer to self-pilot on its major diameter. Once the raceway is cut to size, the reamer can function as a match-machined mandrel for the receiver.
