The Proof Research Sig Sauer Cross Magnum carbon fiber prefit barrel is chambered in 300 PRC with a 22-inch length, a 1:9" twist rate, and 5-groove rifling. Proof Research barrels are produced in-house from double-stress relieved 416R stainless steel that is drilled, contoured, reamed, cut rifled, lapped, and borescope inspected to ensure match-grade accuracy and durability. The barrel features an aerospace-grade carbon fiber exterior applied with a proprietary helical wrapping pattern, which enhances longitudinal thermal diffusivity to efficiently conduct heat away from the bore, allowing the barrel to cool faster and maintain accuracy during extended strings of fire.
