The Proof Research Elevation Carbon Fiber Prefit Barrel is chambered in 270 Winchester with a 24-inch length, a 1:10 twist rate, and a 5-groove configuration. The internal steel barrel is produced in-house from double-stress relieved 416R stainless steel that is drilled, contoured, reamed, cut-rifled, lapped, and borescope-inspected to deliver match-grade accuracy and exceptional durability. The barrel is wrapped in an aerospace-grade carbon fiber utilizing a specialized helical wrapping pattern. This construction offers specific strength up to 30 times that of stainless steel and specific stiffness up to 7 times greater than steel. Engineered for thermal performance, the carbon fiber matrix promotes longitudinal thermal diffusivity to rapidly dissipate heat away from the bore, allowing the barrel to cool faster and maintain consistent point-of-impact accuracy during extended strings of fire.
