Proof Research steel barrels are manufactured in-house from double-stress-relieved 416R stainless steel, a pre-hardened chromium steel ideal for match-grade applications. Each barrel is drilled, contoured, reamed, cut-rifled, lapped, and inspected via borescope. Featuring aerospace-grade carbon fiber with a helical wrapping pattern, these barrels are engineered for thermal performance, efficiently dissipating heat along the length of the barrel and through the walls to cool faster and maintain accuracy during extended shooting sessions.
