The Proof Research Bolt Action Barrel Blank features a 22-inch length, .264 caliber, 1:8 twist rate, and a Sendero contour with 4 grooves. Manufactured in-house from double-stress relieved 416R stainless steel, each match-grade barrel is drilled, contoured, reamed, cut rifled, lapped, and borescope-inspected. It is wrapped in high-strength, aerospace-grade carbon fiber using a proprietary matrix resin and a helical wrapping pattern that enhances longitudinal thermal diffusivity. This design provides up to a 64% weight reduction compared to traditional steel barrels of a similar contour while significantly improving heat dissipation, cooling rates, and accuracy maintenance over extended firing sessions without point-of-impact shift.
