Overview
The Otis Ripcord is a .45 caliber bore cleaning tool designed for rapid, one-pass maintenance from breech to muzzle without the need for disassembly. It features a rigid, helix-shaped rubber core that maintains consistent pressure of the cleaning surface against the bore rifling for aggressive fouling removal. The exterior is constructed from braided Nomex fibers, which provide heat resistance up to 700°F, allowing for safe use on hot barrels at the range or in the field. The Ripcord measures 36 inches in total length, featuring 10 inches of cleaning surface, and is equipped with 8-32 threaded ends to accommodate additional standard Otis cleaning components.
