Overview

The Mossberg 940 Pro Field is a rugged, semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun featuring a 28-inch barrel and a 4+1 capacity, designed to accept 3-inch shells. Built for demanding field use, it utilizes a clean-running gas system that allows for up to 1,500 rounds between cleanings and incorporates corrosion-resistant internal parts including a boron-nitride/nickel boron-coated gas piston, magazine tube, hammer sear, and return spring tube, alongside a chrome-lined chamber and bore, stainless steel return spring, and an anodized follower. The receiver is drilled and tapped, and features an enlarged, beveled loading port and elongated elevator for smooth operation. Externally, the shotgun is outfitted with an adjustable length-of-pull self-draining dark walnut stock and a streamlined forend, both featuring Mossberg's signature texturing for a secure grip. Metal surfaces are treated with a durable matte blued finish. Sighting is aided by a front HIVIZ CompSight fiber optic sight. The package includes three Accu-Choke tubes (Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder).
