Overview

The Mossberg 590 Shockwave SPX is a compact, 12-gauge pump-action tactical firearm featuring a 14.375-inch heavy-walled cylinder bore barrel and a 5+1 capacity. Built on the proven 590 platform, it includes dual extractors, twin action bars, positive steel-to-steel lockup, an anti-jam elevator, and an ambidextrous top-mounted safety. The SPX configuration adds a tactical barrel heat shield, a front bead sight, a convenient clean-out tube magazine cap, and an aluminum top rail for mounting optics. The package also includes a receiver-mounted side saddle with five polymer shell holders that can be mounted to either side of the firearm. It is equipped with a strapped corn-cob forend and a fixed Raptor bird's head synthetic pistol grip uniquely shaped to minimize felt recoil.
