Overview

The MIRA Safety MDG-1 Personal CBRN Decontamination Glove is a compact, single-use emergency tool designed for rapid decontamination of skin, equipment, or accessories. Based on technology developed for the Serbian Armed Forces, the glove utilizes a nontoxic, noncorrosive, and nonflammable montmorillonite-based powder. This ultra-fine compound—with particles as small as 63 microns—adsorbs toxic threats and binds them to the surface of the powder, minimizing off-gassing and the further spread of contaminants. The glove features a fingerless design that can be worn over existing hand protection and secured with a Velcro fixture. It is effective against a wide range of CBRN threats, including liquids, particulates, and gases, providing up to 90% decontamination efficiency within minutes. Each glove is capable of decontaminating a surface area of up to one meter. Weighing 5.3 oz (approximately 150 grams), the glove comes in a waterproof, smartphone-sized package that remains viable for up to five years in storage.
