Overview

The Maxim Defense Roller Delayed Buffer (RDB) System is designed to convert 9mm AR-pattern firearms into a roller-delayed blowback system. This drop-in upgrade replaces standard buffers and springs to reduce felt recoil, increase reliability, and minimize internal friction, which can facilitate easier suppression. The system utilizes a locking mechanism to delay bolt opening until chamber pressure drops. It is compatible with most mil-spec AR-15 and AR-9 carbine-length buffer tubes. Installation requires a 9mm bolt carrier group with a removable central mass and an open channel for the guide rod.
