Overview

The Magpul Zhukov-U Handguard is a compact polymer and aluminum chassis system designed for AK-47 and AK-74 rifles with standard length gas systems, excluding Yugo and RPK pattern variants. Measuring 1.5 inches shorter than the standard Zhukov model, the Zhukov-U helps reduce muzzle-heavy characteristics, accommodates military-issue cleaning rods, and allows the retention of factory cleaning rods. It features an injection-molded exterior with tactical texturing for enhanced ergonomics and grip, M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions for direct-attach accessories, and a full-length hard-anodized aluminum chassis for flex-free mounting and heat mitigation. The handguard is compatible with UltiMAK optics mounts and gas tube rails. Installation requires the permanent removal of the factory hand guard retaining cap and forward sling mount.
