Overview

The Magpul Zhukov-U handguard is designed for AK-47 and AK-74 platform rifles, featuring a Flat Dark Earth polymer exterior and a full-length, hard-coat anodized aluminum chassis that clamps directly to the barrel for flex-free mounting and effective heat mitigation. Shaved down by 1.5 inches compared to the standard Zhukov model, the Zhukov-U is optimized for shorter-barreled rifles and pistols while retaining compatibility with military-issue cleaning rods and UltiMAK gas tube rails. Providing an extended gripping surface suited for modern shooting techniques, the handguard includes M-LOK slots at the three, six, and nine o'clock positions for the direct attachment of accessories or M-LOK 1913 Picatinny rail sections. Installation requires the permanent removal of the factory handguard retaining cap and forward sling mount. Made in the USA, this component counts as one U.S. compliance part for 922(r) purposes.
