The Lee Precision .338 Lapua Steel Factory Crimp Die incorporates a sturdy collet mechanism to apply a firm rifle-type crimp to case mouths. Designed for large series presses using 1-1/4" x 12 TPI threads (such as the Lee Classic Cast Press), this die securely squeezes the case mouth into the bullet's crimping groove with uniform pressure. This higher start pressure builds a more uniform pressure curve, reduces velocity variation, and improves accuracy—even with bullets that lack a dedicated crimp groove—while virtually eliminating the risk of buckling the case.
