Overview

KG K-Phos 4000 Series is a phosphate firearm finish designed to provide high resistance to rust and corrosion. It is intended for application on thoroughly cleaned, oil-free metal surfaces and may be used as a protective pre-finish treatment for Gun Kote applications. The phosphate coating features a fine crystalline structure that creates a strong bond. Applied at room temperature, the coating requires 10 to 15 minutes to dry to the touch. Surfaces with existing scale, rust, or corrosion should be sandblasted or solvent-cleaned to bright metal prior to application. When tested, steel panels treated with this finish have demonstrated resistance to breakdown during a 72-hour salt test.
