Overview

KG Gun Kote 2400 Series is a thin, hard thermal-cure firearm finish originally developed for the United States Navy SEALs. It is engineered to withstand over 500 hours of salt spray testing while offering exceptional protection against corrosion, abrasion, and wear. This versatile coating can be applied to all ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and magazines. It operates across extreme temperatures ranging from over 500 degrees Fahrenheit down to -320 degrees Fahrenheit and provides high heat dissipation. Application requires thorough surface preparation, including sandblasting with 120 grit aluminum oxide at 40 lbs of pressure, degreasing with a solvent cleaner, and optionally applying a pretreatment for optimal adhesion. Parts should be preheated to approximately 120 degrees Fahrenheit before applying light passes with an airbrush or spray gun from 8 to 10 inches away. After coating, parts are baked at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour. Clean-up requires acetone or MEK.
