Overview

KG Gun Kote 2400 Series Firearm Finish in Flat Service Brown is a thin, hard coating originally developed for use by the United States Navy Seals. Designed to withstand over 500 hours of salt spray tests, it provides exceptional protection against corrosion while adding a unique color to firearms. The 2400 Series operates in extreme temperatures ranging from over 500 degrees F down to -320 degrees F, and can be applied to all ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as plastics and magazines. This finish is abrasion-resistant and features extremely high heat dissipation. Application requires sandblasting using 120 grit aluminum oxide at 40 lbs of pressure, degreasing with a suitable solvent, and optionally applying a pretreatment for optimal results. Parts are preheated to approximately 120 degrees F before spraying four to five light passes in varying directions using an airbrush or spray gun. Once dry, the coating is baked at 325 degrees F for one hour. Excess or cleanup is handled using Acetone or MEK.
