Hornady 82144 Precision Hunter 300RemSAUM 178gr Extremely Low Drag eXpanding 20 Per Box/10 Case Centerfire, Rifle Ammunition

Overview

Hornady Precision Hunter .300 Rem SAUM ammunition features a 178-grain ELD-X (Extremely Low Drag - Expanding) bullet designed for accurate and dependable long-range hunting. Equipped with a patented Heat Shield tip, the projectile resists aerodynamic heating to maintain its shape and high ballistic coefficient across all practical ranges. The design ensures consistent terminal performance, offering controlled expansion and 50–60% weight retention at high velocities (0–400 yards), and conventional expansion with 85–90% weight retention at lower velocities (400+ yards). Packaged in boxes of 20, these new-production rounds are loaded in reloadable brass cases with clean-burning propellants, achieving a muzzle velocity of 2,950 fps and 3,439 ft-lbs of muzzle energy.
