Hornady Custom .40 S&W ammunition is loaded with a 155-grain XTP (eXtreme Terminal Performance) bullet. Designed for hunting, self-defense, and law enforcement, the XTP projectile features six serrations that divide the jacket to ensure controlled, balanced expansion across a range of velocities without fragmentation. Each round is hand-inspected at the factory and utilizes new-production, non-corrosive, boxer-primed, reloadable brass cases. The bullets include a swaged core, a drawn copper jacket, and a cannelure to ensure in-flight stability and secure crimping.
