Overview

The Hornady ELD-X (Extremely Low Drag - eXpanding) is a 110-grain .25 caliber (.257") bullet featuring a polymer Heat Shield tip. Designed for match-accurate, all-range hunting, the Heat Shield tip resists aerodynamic heating to maintain a consistent ballistic coefficient throughout its trajectory. The bullet utilizes a streamlined secant ogive, an optimum boat tail design, and concentric AMP bullet jackets for superior aerodynamic efficiency. Terminal performance is optimized via a thick jacket shank and InterLock ring, which work together to retain 50–60% of the bullet weight at high velocities (0–400 yards) and 85–90% at lower velocities (400+ yards). The Heat Shield tip is designed to drive backward upon impact to initiate expansion. This product includes 100 bullets per box and is intended for reloading; it is not loaded ammunition.
