Overview

Hornady .17 Hornet unprimed brass cartridge cases are manufactured to provide reloaders with consistent wall thickness, weight, and internal capacity. Each case undergoes a pressure calibration test to ensure uniform expansion during firing, which aids in proper bullet seating in both the case and the firearm chamber. The brass is measured for tight wall concentricity to promote optimal velocity and accuracy. New cases may occasionally have slight case mouth irregularities from the manufacturing process, which can typically be addressed during standard brass preparation, such as chamfering and deburring.
