Overview
The Heckler & Koch VP40S is a semi-automatic handgun featuring a striker-fired system integrated with an enhanced, light-pull trigger. Designed for civilian sport shooting, security, military, and law enforcement, it features a 4.09-inch cold hammer-forged steel barrel with a polygonal bore profile for long service life and a slight increase in muzzle velocity. The black machined steel slide is coated with a hostile environment finish to resist wear and corrosion, and includes HK's patented rear-mounted charging supports for enhanced gripping leverage when racking. Built on a black polymer frame with molded finger grooves and an extended Picatinny MIL-STD-1913 rail for mounting accessories, the pistol offers completely ambidextrous controls, including dual slide releases and a paddle-style magazine release. The grip design accommodates all hand sizes via three changeable backstraps and six side panels. It uses proven HK P30 steel magazines, providing a 13+1 capacity, and comes complete with two 13-round magazines, two additional backstraps, and two additional sets of lateral grip plates.
