Overview

The Galco Kodiak Hunter is a big-bore scoped handgun-hunting rig designed to carry a magnum revolver diagonally across the torso. Utilizing principles similar to modern backpacks, it pairs a padded shoulder strap with a torso strap that shifts weight off the shoulder for comfortable all-day field carry. The open-top design allows for an abbreviated draw stroke and much faster target acquisition compared to a typical scabbard holster. Front harness adjustments let the user easily change placement and angle throughout the day—accommodating trucks, ATVs, heavy winter clothes, or warm-weather wear—without requiring tools or screws. The holster comes fully assembled, including the holster body, shoulder strap, and torso strap. It does not feature built-in cartridge loops. This model is finished in Havana Brown leather and is configured for right-hand draw. It fits several large-frame revolvers including Smith & Wesson N-Frame models (such as the .44 Model 29/629 with 8-3/8" barrels, with or without scopes) and various Ruger Blackhawk, Super Blackhawk, and Redhawk models with 7.5" barrels (with or without scopes), as well as the Colt Anaconda 8" with scope.
