Overview

The FNH SCAR 17S is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in .308 Winchester (7.62x51mm NATO). It features a 16.25-inch cold hammer-forged, free-floating barrel with a hard-chromed bore and an integrated compensator. The receiver is constructed from hard-anodized monolithic aluminum and includes a 12 o'clock MIL-STD 1913 optical rail along with accessory rails at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. The rifle utilizes a short-stroke gas piston system and a rotating locking bolt. It is equipped with a telescoping, side-folding polymer stock that is adjustable for length of pull and comb height. Ambidextrous controls include the safety lever and magazine release, and the charging handle can be configured for either side. The firearm includes folding iron sights, an A2-style pistol grip, and a composite polymer trigger module with an enlarged guard.
