Overview

The FN 509 Midsize Tactical is a versatile, polymer-frame semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm, engineered for concealed carry, home defense, and duty use. It features a 4.5-inch cold hammer-forged stainless steel threaded barrel (1/2x28 tpi) with a recessed target crown, polished chamber and feed ramp, and an O-ring retention thread cap. The slide wears a long-wearing PVD finish and incorporates an external extractor, a loaded chamber indicator, and the FN Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System for direct mounting of most micro red dots, co-witnessing with the suppressor-height 3-dot night sights. Control and shootability are enhanced by fully ambidextrous slide stop levers and magazine releases, an enhanced grip texture, interchangeable backstraps, and a MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail. The pistol utilizes a duty-safe, flat-faced trigger with a clean break around 5.6 pounds. This optics-ready package includes multiple magazines and a soft pistol case.
