Overview

The Faxon Match Series Big Gunner barrel is precision-machined in-house from gun-barrel quality 416-R stainless steel and finished with an ultra-durable salt bath nitride coating on both internal and external surfaces. Designed for DPMS LR-308 pattern upper receivers, this 18-inch barrel features a 6.5 Creedmoor chamber and a 1:8 twist rate utilizing 5R button rifling to reduce jacket deformation, increase velocity, and ease cleaning. Built with Faxon's proprietary Big Gunner profile, the barrel incorporates a medium taper behind the gas block and a thinner profile forward to reduce overall weight while maintaining rigidity for high rates of fire and suppressor use. It features a rifle-length gas system with a .750-inch gas block journal measuring 1.9 inches in length, a 5/8x-24 threaded muzzle, a polished 11-degree target crown, and a Nickel Teflon-coated barrel extension for improved fit and dry lubricity. Each barrel is fully magnetic particle inspected.
