This BCG is constructed from high-strength 9310 tool steel for the bolt and 8620 steel for the carrier, featuring a chrome finish on the carrier and a nitride finish on the bolt. It is rated for full-auto use and weighs 8.5 ounces complete. The assembly is "superfinished" to reduce friction and fouling while increasing operating smoothness. The bolt is magnetic particle inspected (MPI) and features 45-degree chamfered lugs for reliable lockup, an S7 tool steel extractor, and a Crane O-ring with a silicone insert. The carrier utilizes a staked grade 8 gas key and includes a 4140 pre-hardened steel cam pin.
