Overview

The Ed Brown 18 lb Flat-Wire Recoil Spring is specifically designed for 1911 Commander handguns. Manufactured from a durable Chrome Silicon alloy, this flat-wire spring maximizes longevity and load consistency, offering up to ten times the service life of a conventional round-wire coil spring. Switching to a flat-wire design improves overall slide cycling and provides greater tolerance for a wide variety of ammunition loads. It is intended strictly for use with the Ed Brown flat-wire guide rod system and compatible plug, and will not function with a standard recoil spring guide and plug. Recommended spring replacement interval is between 30,000 and 40,000 rounds.
