Overview

The Daniel Defense MK18 RIS II (Rail Interface System) is a 9.55-inch free-float handguard designed for the AR-15 platform. Developed originally at the request of the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) for the SOPMOD II program, this rail features a two-piece design that allows the operator to mount an M203 grenade launcher without requiring additional parts or special tools, provided the lower rail section is removed. The system is built from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum with a Mil-Spec Type III hard coat anodized black finish. Key features include an uninterrupted upper Picatinny rail platform for mounting optics and accessories, and a robust 6-bolt bolt-up system that uses a steel barrel nut and Grade 8 military-specification fasteners to secure the handguard to the upper receiver. The rail has an overall width of 2.23 inches, a height of 2.25 inches, and an inside diameter of 1.15 inches. The unit weighs 14.1 ounces. Daniel Defense recommends using this handguard in conjunction with a MK12 low-profile gas block. Note that a specific bolt-up system barrel nut wrench is required for proper installation.

About DealsGunsAmmo (DGA)

A price and stock aggregator built for a market the incumbents stopped improving.

We compare listings across dozens of retailers and normalize everything to true cost-per-round — not sticker price, not case-size guesswork.

Who we are

DealsGunsAmmo (DGA) is an independent data provider tracking price and stock across the ammo, firearm, and parts market — giving buyers and the industry an outside, macro-level view of where the market actually stands.

What we’re building

A data-driven platform meant to be the go-to spot for purchasing decisions — comparing offers across vendors and tracking price history, so you can read the market as a whole, not just one listing at a time.

Who we serveNOW

Today, we help buyers on their purchasing journey with price alerts and a real look at where prices have actually been.

LaterNEXT

Down the road, we plan to sell that same market data back to vendors — inventory demand, customer interest and sentiment, and competitive pricing.
