Overview

The Daniel Defense MK12 is an AR-15 style precision rifle chambered in 5.56mm NATO, built around an 18-inch stainless steel MK12-profile barrel featuring a cold hammer-forged chamber, 1:7 twist, and a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) finish for enhanced durability and bore alignment. The rifle utilizes a rifle-length direct impingement gas system with a low-profile gas block machined from hardened 416 stainless steel to USSOCOM specifications, paired with an H buffer and an M16-profile chrome-lined bolt carrier group. The upper and lower receivers are CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum with a Type III hard coat anodize, featuring an enhanced flared magazine well and a rear QD swivel attachment point. A 12-inch free-floating DDM4 quad rail handguard accommodates optics and comes with heat-resistant Santoprene rail panels. Handling features include an ambidextrous Grip-N-Rip charging handle engineered with anti-gas venting features, a Geissele SSA 2-stage trigger, a 6-position Mil-Spec receiver extension, and soft-touch overmolded glass-filled polymer furniture including the Daniel Defense buttstock and pistol grip. The muzzle is finished with an improved Daniel Defense flash suppressor threaded 1/2x28 TPI, and the rifle ships in a full-latch impact plastic case.
