The Daniel Defense MK18 RIS II is a 9.55-inch, two-piece, free-floating handguard designed for AR-15 platforms. Constructed from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum with a Flat Dark Earth Type III hard-coat anodized finish, it is engineered for extreme durability and reduced barrel harmonics. This rail system features an uninterrupted upper Picatinny rail platform and Mil-Spec 1913 rails for versatile accessory mounting. It utilizes a battle-tested, 6-bolt bolt-up system secured by a hardened steel barrel nut and Grade 8 fasteners. Originally developed for SOCOM, this handguard allows for the free-floating of an M203 grenade launcher when the lower rail section is removed. It is intended for use with a low-profile gas block and requires a specific bolt-up system wrench for installation.
