Overview

The Colt Wiley Clapp Commander is a .45 ACP 1911-style pistol featuring a 4.25-inch National Match grade barrel and an aluminum alloy receiver with a black finish. This model utilizes a Series 70 action, noted for its lack of a firing pin safety and an improved trigger pull. Designed for reliability and comfort, it includes a long trigger, flat mainspring housing, and a beavertail grip safety. The pistol is equipped with Novak sights featuring an extra-wide notch and a bead front for low-light visibility. The front strap features Pete Single 25 lpi checkering, and the grip panels are Tactical Oval wood grips with a forward taper and fingerprint checkering. The slide is constructed of brushed stainless steel. It retains original-style components including a small safety, slide lock, and magazine catch without extensions. The pistol has an 8-round capacity and weighs 36 ounces.
