The Colt Competition Government 1911 is a semi-automatic pistol designed for competitive shooting, range use, and personal defense. It features an 8-round capacity and a 5-inch Colt National Match Barrel housed within a striking two-tone finish, combining a corrosion-resistant brushed stainless steel frame with a blued slide. Performance and control are enhanced by a dual recoil spring system that reduces felt recoil, extends spring life, and improves shot-to-shot consistency. The pistol utilizes a Series 70 Firing System for a crisp, clean trigger pull. Ergonomic enhancements include custom G10 black and grey grips, 25 LPI checkering on the front strap and mainspring housing, an upswept beavertail grip safety, and an undercut trigger guard to keep the firearm low in the hand.
