CCI Big 4 centerfire handgun shotshells are designed for close-range pest control, snake shot, rat shot, and nuisance vermin management. Featuring a payload of #4 lead shot in a 140 grain weight, these loads extend the effective range and energy of downsized shotshells compared to conventional options. Each round utilizes a rigid plastic shot capsule that breaks upon hitting the rifling, paired with a flexible base wad that prevents gas blow-by, along with reliable CCI primers. This ammunition is built with new production, non-corrosive components packaged in reusable boxes of 10 rounds, with a muzzle velocity of 800 fps. These shotshells are intended for use in revolvers and pistols, though they may not cycle the action of semi-automatic firearms reliably. They should not be used in firearms with ported barrels or ported recoil compensators, and light-weight revolvers may experience cylinder lock-up due to capsule movement from recoil inertia.
