Overview

The Caldwell Matrix shooting rest features an ultra-rigid, two-piece sliding U-channel frame that adjusts quickly in length to accommodate any firearm while maintaining stability. The frame incorporates an open central channel designed to provide adequate clearance for lever-action rifles and detachable high-capacity magazines. The front of the base includes a storage compartment with a removable lid that doubles as a rubberized rear support surface for handguns. The rest utilizes a spring-tensioned front elevation system with a height adjustment knob for one-handed, wobble-free vertical adjustments. Overmolded front and rear supports protect the firearm's finish while preventing play. The rear portion of the frame is also removable, allowing the unit to convert into a compact front rest.
