Buffalo Bore 45-70 Government ammunition is engineered for big game hunting, delivering higher power and pressure than standard SAAMI-specification loads. Each round features a 430-grain Hard Cast Lead Flat Nose (LFN) bullet designed for exceptional penetration and reliable energy transfer. This ammunition produces a muzzle velocity of 1,925 fps and a muzzle energy of 3,537 ft-lbs. Due to the high-pressure loads, this ammunition is intended exclusively for use in modern firearms. Compatible models include Marlin 1895 iterations made since 1972, Browning 1885 and 1886 copies, Rossi Rio Grande, New England Arms Handi-Rifle, T/C Encore, modern steel falling block actions such as the Ruger #1 and #3, Shiloh, Christian, and Pedersoli Sharps, new production Winchester 1886, and Siamese Mauser bolt actions. It is not safe for use in original or reproduction Trapdoor actions. Each box contains 20 rounds of new-production, non-corrosive ammunition in boxer-primed, reloadable brass cases.
