Overview

The Browning Maxus II Sporting is a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun featuring a 30-inch barrel and a 4+1 capacity. Designed for sporting clays, field, and marsh use, it utilizes a gas-operated Power Drive system to reduce felt recoil and ensure reliable performance across a wide spectrum of ammunition. The shotgun features a hydrographic carbon fiber dip finish, a receiver with satin finish flats, and a chrome-lined chamber and bore for durability. Ergonomic enhancements include a composite stock with a SoftFlex cheek pad, a 1-1/2-inch thick Inflex Recoil Pad, and overmolded rubber gripping surfaces on the stock and forearm. The stock is shim-adjustable for cast, drop, and length of pull, and it can be trimmed up to 3/4 inch to fit a broad range of shooters. The shotgun includes an oversized bolt handle and bolt release, a ramped trigger guard for easier loading, and a screw-on magazine cap. Key internal components—including the bolt, bolt slide, and shell carrier—feature a Nickel Teflon coating for protection and lubricity. Sighting is provided by a HiViz Tri-Comp fiber-optic front sight and an ivory mid-bead. The shotgun comes with three extended Invector-Plus Midas Grade choke tubes (Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder) and ships in an ABS hard case.
